Tuesday January 22/13  update #347

Today was a much better day, starting with seeing deer in the backyard twice today.  Then they gave me a bonus when they flushed out a white snowshoe rabbit from near the neighbor’s gate.  I have really missed seeing my deer friends so this was a very special treat.
I zipped in to meet Mom for lunch again.  She seems embarrassed that I like the food at Bonavista Village because it is one of her pet complaints, yet she eats almost everything without any problem.
Then I made it back in time to meet our dear friend Mavis for an hour’s shopping at Costco to pick up some staples that we can’t find in Ecuador, like SOS pads, Hy’s Seasoning Salt, Montreal Steak Spice, etc.  I also grabbed a couple of items of clothing and some larger printer ink cartridges. 
Then I mailed the Canada Pension application for our friend Oswaldo before meeting Leonie, Brian, Jeff, Nicole, Erin, Emma, and Amy for an enjoyable supper at Ricky’s.  To me, nobody has aged a bit in the intervening 15 months, except me….
Then I picked up Bella’s prescription refills at Safeway before heading home and making phone contact with a few more friends.   When talking to Em and Gord, they invited me over to see their pride in the achievements of their fabulous Golden Retriever named Cheemo who has been winning Best Of Breed ribbons across the country, including Best in the Province of Alberta and Best in the Dominion Of Canada.  Cheemo is such a docile and mild-mannered dog now that he is just a pleasure to have around.

So here I am again, trying to put together my blogs.
