Sunday June 24/12 update
Last night’s fish fry at Joe’s Secret Garden
was fun. We met more Canadians, from Halifax and Edmonton ,
and we all ate way too much. There was a
choice of fried or baked fish. We had
ordered the fried Tilapia and it was plentiful and delicious. They missed our table when serving the baked
fish so four people at our table waited for ages and then came very close to
not getting any. In the end everyone was
very jovial about it.
Part owner, Joe Spotts, who has quite a past history of
producing musical events, again regaled us with his wizardry on the grand
piano. http://youtu.be/i09UW1MdNj4
One horrifying, but apparently true, story was related from
a neighboring table about a family here that had an aged grandmother visit them
from Colombia . Unfortunately granny died while visiting and
the family had a dilemma about returning her to Colombia . Wanting to avoid a lot of Ecuadorian
paperwork and cremation in a foreign country they decided to pack her in a
large suitcase and drive back to Colombia . Well the unthinkable happened at a stop they
made when brazen thieves made off with their luggage! Who knows?
Maybe that will scare at least one thief straight? It must be a horror for the family not
knowing where poor granny is.
I was up half the night doing the photos and the video of
the evening (2.5 hours to upload that darn video) so Bella was able to take
them to Joseph when she returns to the Secret Garden
to play bridge this afternoon. She also
found another novice player last night for her other group in Deborah from Halifax .
Today, I was debating on whether to go over to watch the
Deportiva Cuenca soccer team play at noon.
However I had two loads of
laundry that was going to make me late and the skies and the forecast made the
decision easier. It has been blustery all day but it looks like
it may break up for the evening when I go meet Bella for supper at Big Kabuda’s.
I was merrily trying to upload photos to Fine Art America and the
Internet dropped on me not once, but twice already today. So much for Etapa’s latest attempt to blame my
problems on our router. I am glad, in a
way, because we are not going to needlessly spend another $100 on another
router based on Etapa’s word. I am still
in a quandary on how to solve our problem and find another provider. Etapa has had more than ample opportunity to
fix the problem and obviously can’t. I have re-hooked up our router so Bella can
have the use of her laptop.
Enjoy the pics.
That was today’s excitement.
Hugs to all.
