Sunday June 3/12 update
A beautiful sunny day for a change and Tom Thumb is chirping
at my window. I had a slight headache
all day though and I sat out on the terrace reading my book and enjoying the
fresh air.
I accidentally got back on Facebook again and decided I
would leave it run, just barely participate. It is the only way I find out what is
happening with a lot of family and friends. My daughter Jill posted two photos of my
wonderful grandchildren, one of Danai with a first place finish in their last
Cheerleading competition (just like her Mom). The second is of Dawson with a trophy, standing with his coach
Grant Fuhr, who many of you will remember from the Edmonton Oilers heyday. All
our grandchildren are very precious to us and we are proud of all their accomplishments.
I waited until about 1:30 before leaving a message for Juan
to see if we are doing something today or not?
My sister Leonie was wanting to Skype around 3pm so we did manage to
talk to my 96 year-old Mom and Leonie and Yvette. Skype sure is the greatest invention.
My little buddy, Juan, called at 3:30 to invite me to join
in with his family to play soccer at Parque Paraiso. He said he would be by at 4:30 but showed up
at 4pm. I
surprised myself greatly by staying on the field for a whole two hours until dark, except
for the 35 seconds to take this video. http://youtu.be/3tyX0rr6Ejs
All, except one person who played goal, were less than half
my age and I had not played in a game in 30 years. The rust sure showed in my play, usually a
half-second off at everything. I am
thankful to say I wasn't the worst player on the field, there was this crippled
six-year-old....... lol.
You can see my little buddy, Juan, shirtless, with glasses,
from 14 to 21 seconds. He plays pretty
good for a wiry little guy. The Grandma
who played goal was age 65 and she did a heckuva job!
I am already struggling with the inevitable aches and pains
from using too many forgotten muscles and the painkillers are close by.
Enjoy the pics and video.
That was today’s excitement.
Hugs to all.
