Sunday Apr 15/12 update
We are down to one operating propane tank and today is the
first morning in bloody ages that the gas man hasn’t been honking up and down
the neighborhood at 6:45, just because I am waiting for him… He will be getting a note in Spanish from me
that the one tank did not even last 2 weeks and that we pay for full tanks, not
half tanks. We have never had any tank
last less than a month.
Bella was off to meet Bettye for lunch then they are playing
bridge all afternoon on Avenida Solano.
I had a heckuva time getting a bus to show up and then the #15 arrived
and warned us he was only doing a partial route. He turned one block before
Huayna Capac so I had about an 8 block walk to Parque Calderon where there was
to be mariachi music in the gazebo starting at 11am. I arrived at noon and they were packing
up. So I started heading to destination
#2 at Otorongo Plaza.
There is a large Arts festival going on with artisans
showing off their skills and their wares in every conceivable place. Along the south side of the Immaculate
Conception cathedral, this fellow was using a unique spray painting style to
complete some amazing art.

Otorongo plaza was a sea of tents on doth sides of the Doce
De Avril and again they were selling most handicrafts known to man. I doubled the $4 left in my pocket by folding
it over and putting it back.
I walked a little further up Avenue Loja to this colourful
church and took several shots, usually incorporating the fountain.
I managed to catch the #3 across the street which took me to
the Monay Mall. As I was getting off,
the #15 arrived and the people were literally hanging out of the doors. I thought I was in India for a
second.
I wandered a little along the Tomebamba taking a few more
shots before heading home.
Enjoy the pics and video.
That was today’s excitement. Hugs
to all.
